PATIENT INFORMATION

Rheumatoid Factor (RF)

Rheumatoid Factor (RF)

Rheumatoid Factor (RF) is a blood test that assists in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. This test is designed to detect a specific autoantibody of immunoglobulin G.

High levels of RF indicate a high probability of rheumatoid arthritis, however elevated RF can occur as a result of other diseases. A negative RF does not rule out rheumatoid arthritis.
