Dr. Daniel Carson is a fellowship trained interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine physician. He earned his medical degree from Des Moines University and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (physiatry) at the University of Utah. Following his residency, Dr. Carson pursued advanced training through a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine, accredited by the North American Spine Society, also at the University of Utah. During his fellowship, he worked with leading experts in interventional spine procedures, contributed to academic research, and presented on spine-related topics.
Dr. Carson’s expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine pain. He employs a range of interventional techniques when indicated, including epidural injections, radiofrequency ablations, basivertebral nerve ablations (Intracept), kyphoplasty/spine jack for vertebral compression fractures, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, genicular (knee) nerve ablations, and other peripheral joint injections. His approach integrates a focus on lifestyle and wellness, as he actively engages patients in discussions about nutrition and exercise to support their return to hobbies and interests.
A Colorado native, Dr. Carson now resides in Utah, where he maintains a personal commitment to fitness through early-morning resistance training and cardiovascular exercise. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys weightlifting, golfing, and spending quality time with his wife and five children. Dr. Carson is dedicated to practicing a balanced lifestyle and believes in leading by example.
